“Empty: A Lenten Poem”

India Fay Jones

Empty

A Poem by India Fay Jones

Empty, without a sound
I fall into the frozen ground.
Cover me while I sleep
Into this world I shall seep
Slowly I hold on to you
And onto you, I become anew.

Empty, without a sound,
I fall into the frozen ground.
And with these words I hear a voice
And know within to make a choice
My fears control my very mind
But without them I'm of different kind

Empty without a sound
I fall into the frozen ground
With the winter I find myself
And in Truth I can only delve
That when time comes, to claim my own,
You'll be there to take me home.

India Fay Jones havs been painting prolificly for the past 7 years. She is inspired by her Catholic Faith, and especially the season of LENT. She has many LENT inspired paintings. The season of LENT is very spiritual for her, as she feels close to God during this time, especially.
