The Indelible Mark

By Robin Hamman

Artist Statement

As a Catholic I make the sign of the Cross at least 50 to 100 times a day. As a Catholic artist I started to ponder what all those marks, those signs of the Cross would look like on my chest over the course of a lifetime if every time I made the sign it made an actual visible mark on my body? I believe when we make the sign of the Cross it makes an indelible mark on our person. A mark that protects us, brands us as Christ’s beloved child and gives us a sense of belonging to God the creator of Heaven and Earth. What Indelible marks do you carry?
