Serves the Lenox Hill neighborhood of the Upper East Side of Manhattan, at the corner of Lexington Avenue and East 76th Street. Also known as the Église St-Jean-Baptiste, the parish was established in 1882 to serve the area's French Canadian immigrant population and remained the French-Canadian National Parish until 1957. It has been staffed by the Fathers of the Blessed Sacrament since 1900. Music programs include the Choir at St. Jean’s, the Modern Ensemble Mass, Camerata New York, and the St. Jean Baptiste Concert Series, as well as an 850-person space available for other concerts. Also hosts Applause, a performing arts program that caters to babies through adults. Finally, the Katherine Martyn Theatre, a fully-equipped 204-seat air-conditioned facility with orchestra pit, spacious lobby areas, offices and rehearsal spaces, is available to rent.
