Pro Musicis is a nonprofit classical music organization founded in 1965 by Father Eugène Merlet, a French Capuchin Franciscan priest. Based on the conviction that artistic inspiration is God's purest gift to humanity, Father Merlet pioneered the concept of a classical music award combined with a social mission. The mission of Pro Musicis is to promote visionary concert artists who awaken the human spirit wherever they perform. We believe that music is vital for the well being of all, the spiritual message of music must be at the heart of all we do, and the greatest joy in life is the one derived from giving joy to others.
